Rooms are lovely and the dining room has this amazing painted ceiling. The staff are very helpful especially with advice on travel, where to visit and restaurants. The breakfast has about 10 different types of cakes so if you have a sweet tooth it's fatal !!!. Fruit, cheeses, ham, eggs etc, marmalade in huge jars, fruit juices, breads and served hot drinks are also on offer. The room we had overlooked the small alleyway filled with shops it had a French balcony which was only a foot wide so not for sitting on but some of the other rooms did have a balcony with a table. We had shutters and they really did keep the sound out so slept well too. There is a small roof terrace which you can sit on to look over the roof tops. We went in May which although not high season attracts high rates in all the places we stayed if you traveled in October onwards room rates everywhere seem to be half of what we paid.
Our family of four adults stayed at Maison Tofani Hotel on May 10-11. We were very pleased to have chosen the place which was recommended by our good friends who stayed at the Hotel before. We liked the two rooms which are spacious and tastefully decorated. The hotel location was good, right in the busy shopping area. The breakfast served at the hotel was excellent with so much freshly baked pastries. We liked very much the variety of fresh fruits provided. The breakfast was the best among the 3 and 4 stars hotels we stayed in Italy during our recent trip. We used this hotel in Sorrento to explore the Amalfi coast. The hotel manager , Mr. Giaovanni was very friendly and helpful in arranging the to and fro transfers from Naples central station to the hotel. He also arranged for us the full day trip to Amalfi coast with an English speaking driver. We enjoyed the tour very much which was excellent. We appreciated very much with all this very professional services provided to us which brought great peace of mind when travelling in this region of Italy.
Four of us ( two couples ) stayed for five nights in two superb rooms overlooking the bustling narrow street below. The hotel is centrally situated and a short walk to everything including numerous restaurants - we particularly liked the rustic ones down by the fishing boats - not " haute cuisine" but excellent value and on a warm evening with a table at the water's edge overlooking the bay it takes some beating. Our rooms were large, well-appointed and immaculate. The breakfast room is stunning with its frescoed ceiling and the magnificent breakfasts were easily the best we encountered during twenty three days in Italy. The owner, Maria, a very pleasant lady who we spoke to several times during breakfast is justifiably proud of this most welcoming establishment - her attention to detail is very evident. Giovanni, the customer relations manager is also extremely pleasant and works very hard to ensure that his guests are happy. There is a great air of professionalism pervading this hotel. We would love to return.
We were 6 women traveling through Italy. Our first stop was in Sorento. This was the perfect place to begin our trip. The staff was fabulous, the location couldn't be better and the hotel was warm and inviting.
We were upgraded as it was our anniversary. The location was great. The room was excellent spacious, clean and stylishly furnished. Maria, the owner, served us a home made cheesecake on our first morning. Delicious! Service was attentive without being intrusive. The quality of the food was excellent, great coffee.
Everything about this hotel is wonderful, starting with Giovanni at reception he is very helpful giving directions prior to arriving to personally showing the room.It also has a lift. One of nicest place we stayed in Italy & Greece. Best breakfast!!! Maria in the restaurant grows & prepares all the food, very fresh & delicious, huge variety cakes as well. I would highly recommend this hotel in Sorrento.
Maison Tofani is the Trip Advisor #1 hotel is Sorrento and deservedly so. The hotel has an excellent location, has excellent support staff, excellent rooms and an excellent breakfast with one of the best cappuccinos we had in Italy. We will stay there again when we return in the future.
This was a special place. It is a restored palazzo from the 1700s with beautiful modern amenities. The room was very spacious for three adults (my husband and I were traveling with our 20 year old child) was beautifully appointed, immaculately clean and the woodwork on the original doors is painted in a very unique special style. The newly updated bathroom was very large, clean and strikingly designed. Breakfast was exceptional in a dining room with a beautifully painted ceiling. Delicious sweets, cereals, breads, fruit some hot items and very good coffee service. The hotel is right in the middle of town on a touristy shopping street which we enjoyed at the end of October but might be a little crazy during the height of tourist season. We could walk to everything and did. The fishing village had some of the best food we ate during a 10 day trip and we walked to the train station to go visit Pompeii. We loved this hotel and hope to go back soon!
Just returned from a six night stay at this Hotel in a superior room with balcony overlooking the street outside. Being a light sleeper I was concerned about it being noisy outside at night but it was very quiet. We chose this Hotel because of the excellent reviews and they certainly deserve them. Our room was perfect and much bigger than we expected. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection. All of the staff were friendly and very helpful. Less than 10 minutes from the station and same to the Port. Trains and buses fairly cheap and easy to use. We would highly recommend this Hotel !
when we went to our room we where impressed with the height of the ceiling it must have been at least 4 meters high & the size of the room was big, with large window,We had booked the Hotel for 5 nights Giovanni was very help full in planning our days. The breakfast room had a fantastic ceiling with pictures on & was very big with plenty of room to eat also the breakfast had a big selection of food fruit cornflakes eggs & bacon etc, the bed was very comfortable & firm, bathroom was a good size. The only small problem we had was a small sign behind the door which we did not see that said you can not eat or drink wine in your room we where told that we had food in our room which I reply was for eating outside which we did on a very nice patio I found this a strange sign to have in a room which I have not seen in any other Hotel . The sun roof had a good view of Naples & you could sit there & have glass of wine, there was also 2 sun lounges ,If we go to Sorrento again to we would goto this Hotel again, this was a better Hotel then the ones we went to in Florence & Rome
Maison Tofani is a refreshing break in the bustling town of Sorrento. Great attention is paid to the rooms, the breakfast, and especially the guests. They were especially accommodating to help with our luggage. I recommend it highly!
Maison Tofani was a wonderful hotel for our vacation in the Sorrento / Amalfi area! The location is excellent. Our room had a balcony overlooking the main pedestrian walking street in the heart of the city. The rooms are clean and comfortable and roomy. Breakfast was superb. The staff was excellent, always polite and considerate, always seeking to make our stay memorable. Thank you Nunzianna, Maria, and Ross!
